How Lifeplan works
Personalized advice to maximize returns - research-based and independent
High quality funds, low fees and the right risk and diversification across your portfolio
Your future pension depends to a large extent on how well you manage your pension capital over time. Many people find it both difficult and a little complicated to know what to do to get the best performance.
Lifeplan gives you personalized advice that optimizes risk diversification, reduces fees and selects the best possible funds. All while taking your existing situation into account. We start by compiling and analyzing your entire pension capital and use this, together with factors such as age, risk profile and sustainability preference, as the basis for each piece of advice.

Frequently asked questions
What does Lifeplan do?
Lifeplan is a digital investment advice service for your entire pension that helps you decide exactly which funds you should choose in the different parts of your pension where you can choose funds. The advice is personalized for you and your preferences and circumstances. Lifeplan continuously monitors when you need to make changes and sends you new advice when there are better alternatives for you.
What makes Lifeplan different from other pension advisors?
The key difference between Lifeplan and other pension advice providers is that Lifeplan is a fully independent adviser. Most advisors make money either through commissions from the funds they recommend or by selling their own funds through their advice. This often leads to clients being recommended funds with unnecessarily high charges. Lifeplan is instead paid by the employer or directly by the user and therefore has no incentive to recommend expensive funds. We recommend what is really best for you.
What do you base your advice on?
It is based on leading research into how money is best invested over time. We take a range of factors into account when giving you advice, such as:
- Your age – the risk in your portfolio will taper off as you get closer to retirement
- Your capital
- Forecast of future pension payments
- How much risk you are willing to take
- Your labor market sector – for example, if you work in manufacturing, you should have less exposure to this industry in your funds. This is so that an unexpected downturn in your industry does not hit you twice in the form of poorer salary growth and a decline in funds
- How your ‘locked-in’ pension money is invested (capital that you cannot invest yourself). If this money is largely invested in North American funds, for example, we will not recommend as many North American funds in the parts of your portfolio where you can choose.
- Which funds are available in your pension insurance policies
- What discounts funds have in different policies
How do I get started with Lifeplan?
You can find Lifeplan by logging into your benefits portal provided by your employer or by logging in with Mobile BankID at login.lifeplan.se.
The first step is to sign a power of attorney that gives Lifeplan the right to collect information about your pension insurances in order to make an accurate compilation and analysis of your situation. Once the information is collected, you can start using your Lifeplan service.
If you do not have access to Lifeplan, please ask your employer to contact us for an informal meeting.
Who can use Lifeplan and what does it cost?
Most people have access to Lifeplan via their employer, who has purchased the service as a benefit for their employees. The employer pays for the service and there is no cost to you as a user.
If you want to test whether you work in an organisation that offers free access to Lifeplan, you can try logging in here.
Subscribing to the service as a private customer costs SEK 149 per month. For those who have previously had the service via their employer or subscribe to the service via a relative, the fee is discounted to SEK 99 per month. This also applies to employers who have an agreement with Lifeplan but have not chosen to purchase the full counselling service.
Lifeplan also offers the Lifeplan mini service, which is intended primarily for those without a funded occupational pension. The service provides advice for fund-managed parts outside the occupational pension and is completely free of charge.
If this sounds interesting, register your interest in Lifeplan Mini by contacting our customer support.
How often do I get new advice?
Lifeplan will notify you by email when we see that improvements can be made. For example, if you have been recommended a portfolio with 10% exposure to Japan and this holding has developed so quickly that your portfolio now consists of 15% Japan, we will advise you again. Similarly, if a better fund has become available within your pension schemes or if your personal circumstances have changed. New advice usually comes 1-3 times a year. If you do not receive new advice, you can rest assured that your pension money is well invested, provided you have followed the previous advice we gave you.
Can I book a personal meeting with you?
Lifeplan is a digital investment advisory service that gives you advice on how to optimize your pension. If you have any questions about the investment advice service, you are welcome to contact us at any time between 9am and 5pm on weekdays on 031-109870 or email support@lifeplan.se and we will be more than happy to help you. You will then be put in touch with someone who can answer any questions you may have.
What do I get with Lifeplan?
The service provides you with independent and objective investment advice that helps you achieve an appropriate level of risk, good risk diversification and low fees on your entire pension capital. The advice is also easy to follow and the advice can often be implemented completely digitally using BankID. The advice is customised to give you the best possible growth in the value of your pension capital given your circumstances and risk appetite. We also take your sustainability preferences into account when we develop the advice.
Do you transfer my pension capital between different insurance companies?
No, we focus on optimizing fund selection within the policies you have. The reason for this is that in the vast majority of insurance policies there are good alternatives. If you have a collectively agreed occupational pension, we sometimes advise you on the choice of insurance company and type of insurance for future contributions if there are alternatives that suit you better than what you already have.
Can I get help with ethical/sustainable/green funds at Lifeplan?
Yes, as a client can request that we take sustainability into account when giving you advice.
My employment ends, can I continue with Lifeplan privately?
You can continue with Lifeplan even after your current employment has ended! Contact us for more information. You can reach us at support@lifeplan.se or by phone 031-109870.
I don't have BankID - how do I log in?
For security reasons, it is a requirement to use BankID to log in to Lifeplan and to sign the information authorization. To be able to use Lifeplan, you must therefore obtain a BankID, either on your mobile phone or security box. Contact your bank for more information on BankID.
Who owns Lifeplan?
Lifeplan is a sister company of Benify AB and was part of the Benify Group from 2012 to 2025. In February 2025, the Benify Group merged with its UK-based industry peer Benefex to form the joint company Benifex. Benifex, in turn, is part of the UK-based Zellis Group, which is primarily owned by the private equity firm Apax Partners LLP.
